Your stream should not depend on one venue connection.
Reliable production starts before the audience arrives. We plan connectivity, equipment and operating responsibilities around your event, with a team that knows the backup plan.
Before every stream, viewers see a check screen: a colour test, a live clock that shows the picture hasn’t frozen, and a music bed so they can confirm sound before the programme starts.01
Bring connection options to the venue
We bring five 5G connections, with Starlink for outdoor events. We assess the location and test the available connections during preparation. Coverage, placement and the surroundings still matter, which is why the venue check is part of the plan.
02
Rehearse the response, not just the running order
We agree the critical production paths and how the crew responds if a source or connection fails. Backup equipment, recording and stream routing are scoped to the event. The person responsible for a change should know the cue and the next step.
03
Delivery built for large audiences
Live video plays through Castr, which delivers over several global networks (Akamai, Fastly and CloudFront) with automatic failover and a 99.9% uptime commitment from Castr. With adaptive bitrate on, viewers on phones or weaker connections step down to a lower quality instead of buffering.
04
A backup feed, one switch away
Each event can have a main and a backup stream. The producer page watches the stream and warns the moment Castr stops receiving video. One switch moves every viewer to the backup, with no reload on their side.
05
Load tested on the live platform
In October 2026 we load tested the event platform on the live site: 1,000 signed-in viewers arriving within five seconds with no errors, public event pages handling more than 2,300 requests a second, and live updates reaching 700 open pages in under a second. Poll and word cloud totals were exact.
06
Experience under pressure
For the 2025 ASRC telethon, JPC delivered 16 hours across six platforms. When an encoder failed, the backup kept the broadcast online. That is the value of a prepared crew and a tested production plan.
We bring our own connection options so the production does not have to rely on building internet. If a suitable venue connection is available, we can assess it as part of the overall plan.
Does the event page automatically fix a failing video feed?+
The producer page watches the stream and warns as soon as Castr stops receiving video, and one switch moves viewers to the backup stream without them reloading. Where Castr’s failover ingest is enabled, Castr can also switch to a backup feed by itself. A resilient broadcast still depends on the production setup and crew, which is why we rehearse the response.
