What viewing reports mean for you

Some organisers get a report of who watched and for how long. Here's what it records.

Some organisers keep a report of who watched their event and for how long. This page explains how you'll know, and what the report records.

How you'll know

If the organiser keeps a viewing report, the event page tells you: "The organiser receives a report linking your sign-in email to measured playback and event participation."

What is recorded

  • Watch time. It's counted about once a minute while the video is playing.
  • Live and replay time. The report shows how many minutes you watched live and on the replay.
  • When you were there. It shows when you were first and last seen.
  • Taking part. The report links your sign-in email to how you took part in the event.

Watch time only shows that the video was playing. It doesn't prove you were paying attention.

Who sees it, and for how long

  • The organiser's producers see the report for their own event only. JPC staff can also see it, to run and support events.
  • Other viewers never see your email.
  • Viewing records are kept for 90 days unless the organiser chooses a different time (1 to 365 days). Then they're deleted automatically.
