Check and play recorded video and audio questions
Watch or listen to a recorded question before approving it, then download it for playback or play it from the presentation link.
Viewers can record a short video or audio question, or upload a file, when those formats are on. A recording always waits for a moderator before anyone else sees the question.
Check a recording before approving it
- In the console, open Questions and choose To check.
- A recorded question shows a player under its text. Play it through to check the picture and sound, and that it's suitable.
- Choose Approve, or Don't take with a reason.
Moderators can play recordings but can't download them.
Download recordings for playback (JPC production team)
People signed in with a JPC staff account see a Download video or Download audio button under each recording. The file is named by question number and asker, for example "Q12 Mei Chen video.mp4", ready to drop into playback software such as Mitti.
To get every approved recording at once, choose Download all approved recordings (zip) above the list.
Most recordings arrive as MP4. A recording made in Firefox, or a WebM file someone uploaded, arrives as WebM: convert it to MP4 (for example with HandBrake) if your playback software doesn't play WebM.
Play a recording from the presentation link
- Open Polls & clouds, then Presentation.
- Choose the approved question and Put on screen.
- The presentation link (Open presentation link) shows the question with its recording. Press play when the host is ready. Approving a question never starts a recording by itself.
Who can get a recording
- The person who recorded it can play it back.
- The event's producers and moderators can play it in the console.
- Only the JPC production team can download it.
- Other viewers never get the file. They see that a question was recorded, and its text.
Recordings of questions that weren't taken, or that were never sent, are deleted after 24 hours.
